How To Help The Search Engines Find Your Blog-SEO

The process of helping the search engines find your blog is called Search Engine Optimization or SEO. Whereas, I have added a category for all future posts I found an excellent one today.

This post on SEO was written by a great blogger and I know you will appreciate it.

I read about this blogging on a very good blogging directory called Blog Catalog. I encourage each one of you to submit your blog for listing in this directory.

Please read it and attempt to practice at least one of the points and you will be making progress.

What questions do you have?

  1. Thanks so much for drawing attention to my post by linking to it. I appreciate it and wish you and your blogging students well.

  2. I have returned to share a link to what I believe is a very useful article with you and your blogging students. Many newbies are under the impression that blog directories deliver traffic to their sites. However, the facts don’t bear this out. One may be fortunate enough to receive a dribble of traffic to their blog. Others are under the impression that linking to many directories and backlinking to them is an advantage to their blog. Once again the facts don’t bear this out. Every outgoing link we post to a blog directory is leaking PageRank to that directory, and unless that leakage is offset by balance incoming links then we have erred in our judgment.
